Topology Optimization Design of Circular Support Based on Variable Density Method

A certain circular support is an important connecting component in spacecraft, which is used for supporting and load transfer of spacecraft equipment. The structural failure of this connecting support will seriously affect the normal operation of spacecraft equipment. In order to improve the strength margin of the circular support while ensuring lightweight level, this paper uses the variable density topology optimization method to perform topology optimization design on the circular support. Under the condition of ensuring the overall stiffness of the circular support remains basically unchanged, different topology configurations of the circular support under additive and traditional manufacturing constraints are studied, and the optimal configuration is selected. The research results show that compared to existing structures, the topology optimized structure reduces stress by about 60.56 % while maintaining similar mass and stiffness.
