Ultra fast state estimation for the large electric power system

A reorganized solution of the state estimation problem is proposed which takes advantage of dedicated microprocessors at the local buses to circumvent interacting solutions of the power flow equations. The latter makes conventional state estimation much too time consuming for on-line use in emergencies.
