Silicon based SPAD active quenching reset integrated circuit based on CMOS technology

Single photon detection technology has an important research prospect in the field of optical communication. In this paper, an active quench reset circuit is designed and built for the working state of single photon avalanche diode in Geiger mode, which realizes the detection of weak near infrared light signal. Several peripheral circuits are used to detect and amplify the current of SPAD avalanche, which improves the rate of single photon detection and reduces the dead time of SPAD. The quenching reset time is 115ns, and the counting frequency is 8.7MHz.
