Research on Intensity Homogenization of Vortex Beam Arrays Based on Soft-Edged Apertures

In this Letter, the micro-lens array (MLA) with triangular serrated soft-edge aperture (TSSA) is proposed, and the designed TSSA features a complementary structure, enabling directly nesting of adjacent micro-lenses and maintaining a high fill factor. Based on the optical convolution theory and the characteristics of the soft-edge aperture, this device can produce an array of vortex beams with a uniform light intensity distribution. In the experiments, the optical convolution system based on the MLA with TSSA enables the generation of vortex beam arrays with a uniform intensity distribution. This is generally consistent with the theoretical analysis. Furthermore, this method is compatible with the generation of high-order vortex beam arrays and various structured light arrays, while preserving a uniform intensity distribution. These features highlight its promising applications in optical tweezers, optical communications, and optical fabrication.
