Sensitivity Analysis of a Magnetic Conductivity Bias Segmented Rotor Switched Reluctance Motor

This paper introduces a sensitivity analysis method to facilitate the subsequent selection of optimization objectives and parameters for a magnetic conductivity bias segmented rotor switched reluctance motor (MBSR-SRM) optimization. At first, the structure of MBSR-SRM is introduced. Then, the sensitivity analysis based on the combination of Taguchi orthogonal experiments and variance analysis of this machine is presented. In which, eight parameters with three different levels were chosen as optimization parameters and three objectives, namely, output torque, torque ripple, and copper loss are considered. Parametric modeling and finite element analysis were conducted using an orthogonal experiment table, and sensitivity calculations were performed to determine the impact of each optimization parameter on the optimization objectives. Finally, some sensitivity analysis results of the MBSR-SRM are shown, which facilitates the subsequent structural optimization of the MBSR-SRM.
