Analyzing RSA, AES, and ECC Across 13 Critical Factors in the Healthcare Domain

In the evergrowing field of digital technology, securing sensitive healthcare data has become paramount, necessitating robust cryptographic algorithms such as RSA, AES, and ECC. RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) is widely known for its asymmetric encryption, providing secure data transmission and digital signatures through complex key pairs. AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is favoured for its efficiency and strong symmetric encryption capabilities, ensuring fast and secure data protection. ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) offers powerful encryption with shorter key lengths, making it ideal for resource-constrained environments. In our research paper, we compare these encryption schemes based on 13 important factors, such as how fast they encrypt and decrypt data, how much memory they use, the length of the key, how data size affects encryption, how well they meet regulatory requirements, and how well they protect against quantum attacks. By evaluating these factors, we highlight the strengths and limitations of each algorithm in the context of healthcare applications. Our findings provide valuable insights into selecting the most suitable cryptographic methods to ensure data integrity, privacy, and security, addressing the pressing need for enhanced cybersecurity measures in the healthcare sector.
