Smart Point-of-Care Respiratory Disease Tracking System

Accurate and rapid detection of respiratory infections is crucial for effective disease management and control. However, conventional diagnostic methods may struggle to identify low levels of pathogens with high precision or distinguish between different types of infections. Lateral flow assays (LFAs) commonly used for their speed and ease of use often rely on CMOS camera readers for result interpretation, but their sensitivity and specificity can be limited affecting diagnostic reliability. Conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis and tuberculosis represent the common causes of respiratory diseases. The proposed technology presents Smart Point-of-Care tracking of heart function, glucose level and epilepsy. The ESP8266 Wi-Fi module enables the Node MCU-based health monitoring system to transmit the heart rate data wirelessly to the analyzing platform for monitoring. The mechanism automatically alerts the doctor and the patient's relatives about the patient's state using Internet of Things (IoT). It detects any abrupt changes in the patient's heartbeat. Additionally, the system utilizes a trained XGBoost machine learning algorithm for efficient health abnormality detection and response.
