A Comparative Analysis of ESP32 and ESP8266 for AI-Powered Applications

The influence of artificial intelligence is rapidly increasing in the modern world because it can effectively manage challenging issues in various fields, including education, e-commerce, banking, entertainment, and healthcare. The application of the sub-field of artificial intelligence, natural language processing (NLP), is also exponentially rising. There are several promising natural language models, for example, Gemini and ChatGPT. ChatGPT and Gemini on the web and app have some drawbacks: they require a stable internet connection, can cause latency, use more power, and threaten security due to data transmission. However, ChatGPT and Gemini can be interfaced with microcontrollers like the ESP32 or ESP8266 for local processing, low latency, energy savings, security, and multiple input sources. This makes it ideal for portable, interactive, real-time applications. Putting these advanced natural language processing models together with microcontrollers is a big step in developing smart systems. This article describes an interface between the microcontrollers (ESP32 and ESP8266) with advanced language models, ChatGPT and Gemini, to create interactive and intelligent applications. This paper also gives a comparative analysis of the ESP32 and ESP8266 for AI-powered applications when connected to natural language models.
