An Improved Droop Control Method of High Voltage DC Parallel Electric Power System for More Electric Aircraft

The core challenge for stable and reliable stabilization of the high voltage DC (HVDC) parallel EPS for more electric aircraft (MEA) lies in current-sharing control. Existing droop control methods have an inherent trade-off between voltage regulation and current-sharing accuracy and are sensitive to differences between system line impedances. To address these challenges, an improved droop control method for wound rotor synchronous generator (WRSG) based HVDC parallel EPS is proposed, which ensures high current-sharing accuracy and effective voltage regulation without requiring additional control or communication components. And it can enhance system stability under constant power load (CPL). Furthermore, the essence of the improved droop control is revealed, simplifying parameter design. And the impedance model of the WRSG-based HVDC system is derived, and the stability of the system with constant power loads under three different control methods is analyzed. Finally, experimental results confirm the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.
