HRRP Analysis of Hypersonic Vehicle Based on TDPO Method Using a RT Interpretation

In this letter, we employ a time-domain physical optics (TDPO) method using a Radon transform (RT) interpretation to obtain the high-resolution range profile (HRRP) of a near-space hypersonic vehicle under various conditions. The results indicate that the temperature and pressure within the plasma sheath, together with the vehicle’s flight speed and altitude, significantly influence its HRRP, thereby complicating radar detection and tracking. The research presented in this letter introduces a novel approach to studying the radar imaging and electromagnetic (EM) scattering characteristics of hypersonic targets covered by inhomogeneous plasma sheaths.
