Agent-based Simulation modeling of traders and farmers’ behaviors: A case study of rice trading in Long An province

Rice is an important agriculture product of Vietnam. However, the fluctuation of rice price in the market every year usually causes tensed relationship between farmers and traders as each of side tries to maximize their trading profit. This research uses Agent-based Simulation (ABS) method to explores the behavior of traders and farmers towards fluctuations of rice prices in the spot market and seek for a win win scenario for a sustanable supply chain. The simulation is conducted for a case study of rice supply chain in Long An province, Vietnam.
