Ultra-Low PDN Impedance Measurement Using Very Short Time Domain Acquisition

This paper presents three fast acquisition measurement methods suitable for high current, active, power plane impedance measurements. The 2-port shunt through impedance method, using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) has been used extensively for accurate impedance measurement of active power planes. As the core current continues to increase, the 2-port shunt through method is reaching its limits.
