High Order Polynomial Projection Operators for Circuit Macro-Modeling

Having behavioural models for analog circuits is an important part of the design flow. With the constant evolution in the state-of-the-art of hardware technology, developing accurate circuit models is very important. Traditionally, integrated circuit macro-modeling requires strong circuit design knowledge and expertise, but this is both time-consuming and expensive. Recently, there have been works for automating the generation of behavioural models using machine learning at both the device and circuit levels. In this paper, we introduce a new type of non-linear circuit macro-model that is built on top of the high order polynomial projection operator (HIPPO) framework. We show the validity and superior performance of our HIPPO-based macro-model on a low-noise amplifier circuit example.
