Performance Analysis and Simulation of Continuous-Time Integral Sliding Mode Controlled Permanent Magnet Linear Motor

For precise position tracking in robotics and modern industrial applications, an effective control algorithm is crucial for the position control of a Permanent Magnet Linear Motor (PMLM). To overcome this challenge,This paper design a Continuous-Time Integral Sliding Mode Control (ISMC) strategy for a PMLM. This method is aimed at solving problems with better positioning and insensitivity to parameter variations and external disturbances that are important in high-performance motion systems. The ISMC uses an integral sliding surface with smooth, continuous dynamics. This breaks free of the tracking error in a fixed time. The stabilities of the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control, Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and ISMC are analyzed by step response, and sinusoidal response respectively. The simulation results exhibit that the control strategy can effectively reduce the chattering, has excellent disturbance rejection ability, and its tracking performance is better than traditional methods. The results highlight the promise of ISMC for high-performance industrial implementations with rigorous requirements on the accuracy and fidelity of PMLM control.
