Early Detection of Land Sliding During Heavy Rains Using Accelerometer and Rain Sensor

Mountainous areas along with hilly terrain face substantial threats to human lives together with property assets through landslide events. The research introduces an innovative method which utilizes accelerometer measurements jointed with rain sensor data to identify landslides. Real-time information about changes in the stability of soil and rock is obtained through ground movements which the accelerometer tracks. The rain sensor operates simultaneously to detect precipitation levels since heavy rainfall serves as a main cause of landslides. When these two sources of data are brought together the system becomes better equipped to identify locations prone to landslides. The monitoring system combines GPS with GSM technology to track areas at risk of landslip so authorities will get alerted through GSM signals which prompt public safety warnings. The system demonstrates its ability to generate prompt warnings during field tests in vulnerable regions through operational tests. The study demonstrates that combined sensors create opportunities to enhance disaster protection by managing landslide risks effectively.
