Optimal PID Control design for FTMS using WOA Optimization technique

This study investigates the optimal design of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller for a Four-Tank Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) system (FTMS) using the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). FTMS characterized by its coupling effects and nonlinear dynamics, presents unique control challenges that are addressed through a decoupling strategy. The system’s mathematical model is analyzed and PID parameters are attained using WOA to achieve optimal time-domain performance. Simulation findings show how reliable and efficient the suggested control strategy with improved response time and stability under varying disturbances. The findings underscore the potential of WOA-based PID design for enhancing control performance in complex MIMO systems.
