Smart Specs: Real-Time Object Detection through Embedded Vision

Human eye is the most significant character to detect the objects. Detecting the object includes the detection of position, size, distance etc. For individuals who have lost their vision and cannot detect objects, this problem can be addressed using smart specs. To enable virtual vision, machine learning and image processing approaches utilizing packages such as OpenCV and NumPy are required. There are different types of algorithms available to detect the object like R-CNN(Region-based Convolutional Neural Network), Fast R CNN, Faster R CNN, Sliding Window object detection and YOLO. You Only Look Once(YOLO) is the famous algorithm to detect the objects and gives the accurate position, size, etc. To create a smart specs device it requires microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry pi, ESP32, STM32, etc. To detect and announce the detected object , it requires a camera & speaker. By using YOLO algorithm and hardware devices like Arduino, Camera & speaker, the smart specs will be created.
