AI-Powered Phishing Detection: A Data-Driven Cybersecurity Approach

Phishing attacks have evolved beyond traditional emails to include SMS-based scams (smishing) and deceptive websites, posing a significant cybersecurity threat. Conventional rule-based detection methods struggle to counter attackers' sophisticated tactics. This paper presents an AI-powered phishing detection system that integrates machine learning and cybersecurity techniques to identify and prevent phishing attempts across multiple digital communication channels. Our system analyzes textual and behavioral patterns in emails and SMS messages, while advanced cybersecurity tools assess domain authenticity, URL structures, and webpage behavior for website phishing detection. By leveraging AI’s adaptive learning capabilities, our solution provides real-time, multi-layered defense against phishing threats, achieving high accuracy while maintaining a controlled false positive rate. This research contributes to cybersecurity by introducing a scalable, AI-enhanced system capable of adapting to evolving attack strategies, strengthening digital security, and improving user protection.
