Analysis and Finite Element Simulation of Single-Phase Soil Ground Fault Arc Development

Soil as the most common grounding medium, the distribution network occurs in a high proportion of single-phase soil arcing ground fault, understanding the development process of single-phase soil ground fault arcing to ground fault identification and disposal, reduce the risk of distribution network operation has important significance. At present, the research on single-phase arcing ground fault arc concentrates on the external characteristics of the fault, and less research on its development process. In this paper, from the simulation of single-phase soil ground fault experiments, analysis of soil breakdown mechanism, through the establishment of finite element model of the soil arc ground fault occurred in the nonlinear ionization process simulation, to verify the model can be a good simulation of soil ionization process.
