Power System Optimal Scheduling Method Based on IPCC Carbon Emission Calculation

With the widespread use of fossil energy, greenhouse gas emissions have caused serious damage to the environment. Especially in the background of the dominant role of thermal power generation, how to meet the low-carbon and electricity demand at the same time is an important issue. In this paper, IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) carbon emission factor method and coal consumption curves of thermal power plants are used to establish an optimal power system scheduling model with the goal of minimizing carbon emissions. Through simulation analysis of the modified IEEE 33-node model, the simulation results show that the low carbon optimal scheduling is successfully realized and the carbon emission is greatly reduced and reduce the branch loss in the power grid. The study also found that distributing generator sets evenly across the grid helped further reduce energy loss. This paper provides a simple and effective solution for low-carbon optimal dispatch of power systems.
