Research on Fault and Protection Technology of PEDF System

DC circuit breakers are key equipment for the safe operation and protection of DC distribution networks. This paper studies the inter-pole short-circuit fault and protection of the PEDF system, and proposes a control and protection scheme based on a new all-solid-state DC circuit breaker. Firstly, a simulation model of the PEDF system is established in the PSCAD/EMTDC platform, and the fault response mechanism of the grid-connected converter when an inter-pole short-circuit fault occurs is analyzed and simulated and verified. At the same time, the topological structure and working principle of the new all-solid-state circuit breaker are briefly described. On this basis, a protection scheme for the PEDF system is designed, and relevant tests are carried out to verify the correctness of the circuit breaker design and protection scheme.
