Addressing Supply Chain Uncertainty and Instability Through Industry 4.0 Applications

The external environment of businesses has grown more unpredictable in recent years, posing more risks in the global supply chain management (SCM). Environmental uncertainty will have greater detrimental repercussions, especially as more companies begin to operate abroad. Implementing Industry 4.0 (I4.0) such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), BlockChain, Internet of Things (IoT), makes it possible for the reduction of uncertainty and instability in the supply chain through the integration of the different technologies. These strategies increase resilience and enable quick, flexible decision-making. This study explores how I4.0 technologies can change supply chains, emphasizing how they can manage uncertainties, lower risks and enhance stability in both the upstream and downstream segments of the logistic chain. In the same direction, this paper offers insights into how businesses might use I4.0 to manage a more complicated and unpredictable global environment by examining existing uses and potential future developments. The following work summarizes some recent and concrete contributions.
