An Interval Observer Optimization Design Method for Discrete Linear Time-Invariant Systems

This letter proposes a gain optimization design method for an interval observer (IO) of discrete linear time-invariant (LTI) systems. First, in order to describe the quality of interval estimation, a vector norm-based specification is used to measure the interval size. Second, based on the specification, a gain optimization design method is proposed for the IO. At the end, the effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by numerical examples.
