Performance Optimization for Ring Clustering Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Network

In this paper, we propose the Adaptive Ring Clustering Heterogeneous Routing technique, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and network performance in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Unlike conventional methods, proposed method adapts ring clustering to balance energy consumption across the network, without restricting rings to equal sizes and also has two modules for centralized and distributed networks. It caters to both centralized and distributed network architectures, optimizing energy usage through dynamic cluster formation and leader selection. Simulations conducted with NS2 demonstrate EAARCHR's superiority in reducing energy consumption, delay, and improving packet delivery ratio (PDR) compared to traditional approaches such as RPL and E2HRC. This technique offers a scalable and efficient solution for extending WSN lifespan while ensuring reliable data transmission.
