Enhancing Student's Interest in Smart Farm Education Using Simulink and MKR 1010

This paper proposed the method to promote smart farm technology including ThingSpeak Internet Of Things (IOT), and arduino to student. Simulink support package for Arduino hardware provides an easy way for undergraduates to create algorithms that use Arduino sensors and actuators by using the blocks that can be added to Simulink model. This paper also provided the method of selecting the Arduino broad versions. The Simulink blocks are used to configure the associated sensors and actuators, as well as to read and write data to them. The various data such as temperature of pump motor, moisture of soil, availability of water, etc. are online monitored through ThingSpeak. The successive utilization in this proposed method has been used in university and distributed to secondary or high schools to prepare them for further technologies.
