Wideband InP-Based Planar Antenna Array with Meander Structure for Millimeter-Wave Applications

This paper presents the design of a wide band an-tenna array with equally spaced antenna elements over an Indium phosphide (InP) substrate for millimeter wave applications. The proposed design can be used to match with uni-travelling carrier photo diode (UTCPD) at the input in microwave photonics. The antenna array can provide an overall realized gain of 10.26dB over a bandwidth of 13GHz (291–304 GHz). The proposed model has 4.3 % impedance bandwidth, and higher isolation is achieved between adjacent elements using meander lines in between the patches to minimize the loss and increase the range of radiated power.
