Ray-Tracing Modelling and Performance Assessment of AGVs in Industrial 5G Networks

In this work, the feasibility of MIMO technology has been analyzed for AGVs operating in industrial 5G Non-Public Networks (NPN). For this purpose, ray-tracing simulations have been carried out at 3.5GHz for different AGV positions and MIMO configurations in a realistic industrial scenario. Obtained results have indicated that for this kind of environment the capacity values obtained with low-order MIMO configurations are closer to their theoretical maximum values than those of higher-order MIMO setups. As expected, MIMO systems have better performance in an industrial environment when operating under NLOS conditions.
