Second-order n-dimensional systems and the Lyapunov matrix equation

Equations analogous to the Lyapunov matrix equation are derived for second-order
n
-dimensional systems. These are shown to be more readily solvable than the equivalent
2n
-dimensional Lyapunov matrix equation.
