Inductive Charging for Battery-Free Sensor Nodes by Ambient RF Energy

From the last few years we can observe thousands and thousands of sensors being produced in the growing technological world. The problem arises with power distribution and the interconnections between these sensors. So many researchers started their research on Wireless Power Transfer Systems so as to make the sensors battery free, better performance and cost efficient. We know that we need minimum amount of energy to power the sensors. Many studies stated solar energy would be an efficient way to battery less sensor nodes, but it may not be useful at night times. As we have seen that with growing technology the numbers of RF (Radio Frequency) antennas have been tremendously increased, for communication of devices and sensors. So, in the proposed research we discuss how RF ambient energy can be harvested and used to power these sensors. We also discuss the configurations used in the circuits like capacitors, diodes, etc.., the antennas used in the Wireless Power Transfer systems.
