Design Method of MIMO Subarrays Sparse Layout for Wide Aperture Radar Imaging

This paper investigates an efficient design method for realizing a wide aperture radar using multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) subarrays. We propose an improved prefix tree search algorithm using the Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) for solving the problem of MIMO subarrays sparse layout. The algorithm achieves a combination of tree search accuracy and random sampling generality to improve the efficiency of wide aperture layout. To validate the results, we evaluate the imaging performance of our design in single-source and multi-source target regions, and compare the layout design and performance of several different MIMO subarray constraints.
