Sub-Surface and Remote Sensing Stand Testing Using Stepped-Frequency Continuous Wave Signals

The laboratory stand was tested for subsurface and remote sensing research using the AD8302 amplitude-phase detector and stepped-frequency continuous wave signals. The schematic diagram of the stand and its components was described and presented. Amplitude and phase of radio wave images were obtained for the cases of tested object shallowly buried in dry sand and positioned on its surface in the laboratory conditions. The results will be used in future works to realize measurement techniques for detecting different type landmines at the base of electromagnetic sensors installed in the unmanned aerial vehicles.
