Event-Triggered Intermittent Control for IT2 T-S Fuzzy Interconnected System on Time Scales

In this paper, event-triggered control synthesis of Interval Type-2 Takagi-Sugeno (IT2 T-S) fuzzy interconnected system is investigated via aperiodic intermittent method. Remarkably, time scale differential equation is introduced to construct a hybrid mode of discrete and continuous interconnections. An aperiodic intermittent control mindset is proposed inspired by the system energy attenuation characteristics. What’s more, a novel event-triggered mechanism embedding exponential decay function is developed to help reduce the sampling amount during the work cycle. By establishing time-scale type Lyapunov functions, sufficient criterion is obtained to guarantee stabilization of IT2 T-S fuzzy interconnected system with no Zeno behavior. Finally, some simulations on different time scales are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Note to Practitioners–Interconnected systems are widely utilized in practical scenarios, such as electrical power systems, intelligent transport systems and multi-agents. The interconnections between subsystems often exhibit a hybrid mode of continuous and discrete cases at arbitrary moments. Unlike existing approaches by differential and difference equations, a unified framework that can solve model and control synthesis in such hybrid models is urgently needed. This paper introduces time-scale theory to unify the continuous and discrete interconnected systems. Furthermore, an energy-based intermittent control strategy is proposed, which can design appropriate energy functions tailored to specific requirements of different types of systems. Considering the heterogeneous nature of interconnected subsystems, the working and resting intervals of each subsystem controller are repartitioned by decomposing the overall energy function as $V(t)=\sum _{i=1}^{N}V_{i}(t)$ . The optimized approach results in a significant reduction in communication resource consumption, making it well-suited for practical applications in interconnected systems. In particular, obtained results can be applied directly to communication scheduling of vehicle formations. The energy-based intermittent control strategy can allow the smart grid commercial vehicle fleet scheduling and control system to respond quickly to tasks. Thereby signal collisions and bandwidth congestion can be avoided, and more scheduling errors and delays can be reduced.
