Simulation Study of Target Tumbling Characteristics Based on Laser Radar

To investigate the ability of laser radar to detect micro-Doppler effects of tumbling objects, a 1064 nm laser radar system based on a scattering center model is employed to simulate and analyze the echo signals of tumbling targets. By applying short-time Fourier transform (STFT) techniques, the characteristics of micro-Doppler frequency shift can be extracted from the echo signal. The micro-Doppler characteristics of the echo signal extracted by time-frequency analysis are highly consistent with the micro-Doppler frequency shift characteristics calculated theoretically. The demonstrates that the laser radar can accurately capture the micro-motion information of the tumbling target, providing key data support for further analysis of the tumbling target.
