An Efficiency Optimization Method of DLCC Compensated IPT System

Inductive power transfer (IPT) with higher-order compensation circuit is an effective way to improve system transmission performance. However, due to the relevant large number of circuit parameters, optimizing circuit parameters to achieve maximum transmission efficiency remains a challenge. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes an analytical parameter design method to enhance the system efficiency. The power loss of the whole system is first analyzed and modeled, and their relationship with the circuit parameters is analyzed. According to the characteristics of the loss, an analytical parameter optimization design method is proposed. Based on which, the multi-variable optimization problem that maximizes system efficiency can be transformed into multiple single-variable optimization problems, and the analytical solution of the optimal circuit parameters can be derived. This method greatly reduces the design complexity of the circuit parameters, and the analytical solution of the optimal circuit parameters of the IPT system is obtained for the first time. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The prototype can transmit 10 kW of power over a distance of 175 mm with a DCDC efficiency of 97%.
