Simulation Study of Time Equivalent SVPWM Approach for Nine Phase Inverter System at Load

In this study, a time equivalent SVPWM technique for nine step VSI at inductive load is analyzed through simulation in a MATLAB/SIMULINK system. 9-phase voltage source inverters power 9-phase machine drives, which are used in high-power applications. To get the desired effect, the output of the inverter must be controlled. Although a variety of control systems have been discussed in the past, time equivalent SVPWM exhibits the least amount of absolute harmonic distortion when compared to other PWM techniques. After outlining the complete method for the time equivalent SVPWM scheme for 9-phases, the author uses two indices-fundamental peak value and total harmonic distortion to evaluate the VSI's performance. Simulation in the MATLAB environment is used to validate the results.
