PV Energy Conversion System with Grid Interface Using Variable Step Size Modified Decorrelated NLMS Algorithm

Adaptive system identification (ASI) topics have long been of interest to the research and commercial sectors. As another of the conventional techniques for ASI, Least mean square (NLMS) accuracy is unpredictable in the low signal-to-noise ratio domain. The proposed research uses an adaptive nonlinear control approach to develop an adaptable grid-interfaced solar energy generation system with three phases and two stages. The suggested system can extract peak power from a solar array and also perform reactive power compensation, harmonic current removal, grid current and adaptable dc-link supply managing regulation. With the aid of an adaptive observer, the harmonic information from the contaminated load current is accurately measured. The updating laws for an adaptive observer are derived in terms of a strictly positive real function. To reduce the switching losses in the voltage source converters (VSC) and prevent their tripping in distribution grids with sensitivity issues, the point of common coupling voltage has been employed to adaptively customize the DC-link voltage. To enhance system reaction in dynamic circumstances, a feed-forward loop for PV contribution is incorporated. Test and simulation results show how well the PV system performs with the aforementioned features. Better dynamic and steady-state performances are seen when using the suggested nonlinear adaptive estimation based control strategy. It is discovered that the total harmonic aberrations in grid currents fall well within the parameters of the IEEE-519 specification.
