Carbon emission index calculation and influencing factors analysis of coal-fired power plants considering distributed photovoltaic and integrated energy

Coal power is the main source of carbon emission of electricity and its unit carbon emission index is the basic basis for implementing low-carbon planning and operation. Considering the availability of data of coal-fired power plants, a calculation method of carbon emission index of coal-fired units based on material balance is proposed. This method takes into account the easy operability of macro statistics and the accuracy of technical application, and integrates the compilation of macro GHG inventories with the operation indicators of micro planning, which can improve the accuracy of the compilation of departmental GHG inventories and provide basic data for the implementation of emission reduction indicators in the planning and operation of low-carbon power systems. At the same time, the peak load capacity of cogeneration units can be improved and the load level of power system can be increased by the technology of electric heating and heat storage. The correctness and practicality of the proposed method are verified by case study of an actual coal-fired power plant, and the analysis on its influencing factors shows that the order of carbon emission intensity of coal-fired generation units is not independent on their coal consumption.
