Power Fault Analysis and Monitoring System using Simulink

This research paper presents a full system for power fault detection, protection, and monitoring with MATLAB Simulink. The model effectively identifies various power system faults like short circuits, line-to-line faults, and three-phase faults, which can lead to equipment malfunctioning, power shutdowns, and safety risks. With the aid of Simulink, the system models the fault condition and effectively examines prominent parameters like voltage drops, current surges, and power quality variations. The model features standard power system components like three-phase sources, transformers, circuit breakers, and fault blocks to simulate actual conditions. The monitoring techniques are employed to quantify system response during faults, enabling effective pattern recognition and prompt fault response. The proposed system demonstrates effective fault detection, prompt protection schemes, and optimal system recovery strategies.
