Fire Hawk Optimizer-based PI-Synergetic Hybrid Control for Suppressing Circulating Currents in Parallel Inverter-based Electrical Drive Systems

Electrical drive systems utilizing parallel inverters are widely employed in various industrial applications due to their efficiency and flexibilityStill, one major disadvantage of these systems is the existence of zero-sequence circulating currents (ZSCC) that can distort circulate current and deteriorate the performance with higher losses. In this research work a new strategy that encompasses a synergistic hybrid control associated with a PI deliver optimized through FHO to manage ZSCC in electrical drive systems with parallel inverters is presented. The primary objective of this study is to develop an effective control strategy that mitigates circulating currents (CC) while maintaining system stability across different operating conditions and minimizing Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The proposed FHO method fine-tunes the parameters of the PI controller, resulting in improved control performance and adaptability. At that point, the suggested approach is put into practice on the MATLAB platform and contrasted with a number of current approaches, including Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Bacterial Foraging Optimization Technique (BFOT), and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The proposed method achieves a THD of approximately 3.16%, significantly lower than existing methods, thereby validating the effectiveness of the proposed synergetic hybrid control in enhancing the operational efficiency of electrical drive systems.
