Effect of Various Parameters on Hot Spot Heating Power of Parallel Cell Cluster Type PV Module

The authors have previously proposed a parallel cell cluster method as a method to reduce hot spot heating power in Si monocrystalline solar cells. In the proposed parallel cell cluster method, the conventional series connected cell group are divided into equal parts and configured in parallel, so that and the heating power is reduced by lowering the voltage of the normal cell group. Since factors such as solar intensity, shadow ratio, and defect resistance vary depending on the situation, it is necessary to consider the effect of these parameters on the heating power. Therefore, this paper compares how the heating power varies depending on various parameters in the proposed method with the conventional method. As a result, the proposed method showed a higher reduction in heating power compared to the conventional method, and under the conditions with the highest reduction effect, the heating power was approximately 0.92 [%] of that of the conventional method.
