Frequency Control in the Islanded Smart Microgrid Via Diesel-Engine Generator

Diesel-engine generators are employed in power systems for both generating power and energy. In the islanded microgrid, the most important duty for the engine generator is the frequency management. Smart microgrids (SMGs) provide with high-tech controls to solve more rising problems in smart grids. For possessing a reliable and stable SMG, it is important to incorporating an adaptive primary frequency controller for the islanded condition. This duty is hard due to obscure incident of unsure disturbances, loads. We insist novel Diesel-engine generator's frequency control for islanded SMG. The suggested method is according to reinforcement learning control using continual Q-learning. The goal of this paper is to show Q-learning approach for continual systems which figure out the LQR problem without having any knowledge of the system dynamics. Simulation results show effectiveness of the suggested approach.
