Co-Simulation of Cartridge Jamming of Small-Caliber Automatic Artillery Based on ADAMS and ANSYS Workbench

For the cartridge Jamming during the smallcaliber automatic artillery firing, a combined simulation analysis method based on ADAMS and ANSYS Workbench is adopted. By analyzing the principles of cartridge case extraction, we need to establish a simplified structural dynamic model, and use Adams to simulate its cartridge case process to obtain the cartridge case force under normal rate of fire; The elastoplastic finite element numerical simulation of cartridge launching process was carried out by ANSYS Workbench, and the extraction force required by the design and actual size of the artillery bore was obtained respectively, which was compared with the cartridge jamming force for quantitative analysis. The results show that under normal firing conditions, the extraction force required by the actual size of the artillery bore is greater than the jamming force. It is indicated that the deviation between the actual size and the theoretical size of the artillery bore is too large, which is the main cause of jamming in the firing process of the artillery.
