D-Band Electromagnetic Shielding with Optically Transparent Filter for 6G Wireless Communications

We present highly transparent (optical transmittance 86.4 % at 550 nm) electromagnetic shielding filter operating for the frequency range of 110–170 GHz. As a proof-of-concept, we fabricate double-layer transparent conducing electrodes with a pitch of 17.5 μm, The designed filter has shielding effectiveness of greater than 55 dB in the entire band. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this work is the first to demonstrate both 86.4% of optical transmittance and 56.1 dB of shielding effectiveness in the frequency region over 100 GHz.
