Design and Performance Analysis of a 5 GHz Inset Fed Microstrip Patch Antenna for Wireless Communication and Applications

This paper presents a novel microstrip patch antenna (NMPA) design with respect to 5 GHz to evaluate the performance by varying double-inset-fed dimensions. This study is carried out using CST software depending on the methods of Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) and Time Domain Analysis (TDA). An FR-4 substrate with an ε value of 4.3 and copper as a patch are used for the proposed design, where the optimized inset-fed parameters are found to be 0.53.5 mm for length and 0.1-1.0 mm for width. The NMPA offers a return loss of -35.975 dB, a VSWR of 1.032, and the highest bandwidth of2.796 GHz at a 4.864 GHz cut-off frequency. These findings are particularly suitable for 4G, 5G, RFID, radar, and other communication systems.
