Lithium Ion Battery Pack Robust State of Charge and Charging Method Estimation using Fuzzy Logic

Accurately estimating the state of charge (SOC) and optimizing charging techniques in lithium-ion battery packs are essential for improving performance, extending lifespan, and ensuring safety in electric cars (EVs) and energy storage systems. This study introduces a fuzzy logic-based framework that combines inputs including voltage, current, and temperature to provide precise SOC estimation and dynamically optimize the charging process. By addressing uncertainties and nonlinearities in battery behavior, the fuzzy logic controller ensures real-time adjustments to charging rates, reducing risks such as overcharging and deep discharging. This innovative approach enhances battery management systems (BMS) by offering a reliable, adaptable, and efficient energy storage solution.
