A Notch LFM Waveform Design Method for Anti-Interrupted Sampling Repeater Jamming

Interrupted sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ) is an active coherent jamming technology in modern electronic warfare. Generally, waveform design is an effective anti-ISRJ method for radar systems. However, existing methods have typical disadvantages, such as high computational complexity, poor auto-correlation performance, and difficulty in obtaining prior information. In this article, an anti-ISRJ waveform design method based on intelligent parameter estimation and notch linear frequency modulation (LFM) is proposed. First, the YOLOv7-tiny lightweight object detection model is used to estimate the key parameters of the ISRJ, including sampling period, sampling pulse width, etc. Then, based on the parameter estimation results, the time-domain envelope of the LFM waveform is designed and optimized to obtain a notch LFM waveform for anti-ISRJ. The simulation results show that the design complexity, robustness, and anti-ISRJ performance of the proposed method are better than those of traditional methods, which present practical values in applicable scenarios. Moreover, the effectiveness of the proposed method is also verified by using an experimental platform.
