Internet of Things and Edge Computing Meet Green Challenges: Part 1

In the age of rapid technological advancement, the integration of the Internet of things (IoT) and edge computing has paved the way for smarter cities, more efficient industries, and more connected ecosystems. However, this expansion also comes with significant environmental and energy challenges. As IoT devices proliferate and edge computing becomes more widespread, the demand for processing power, energy consumption, and data storage continues to escalate, putting increasing pressure on our global energy systems and contributing to carbon footprints. At the same time, the convergence of the Internet of things (IoT) and edge computing emerges as a powerful catalyst for sustain-ability to deal with escalating environmental challenges. The signif-icances of the relations among Internet of things (IoT) and edge computing and green challenges are attributed to the connections with big data, which have been analyzed in [1] and [2].
