Optimization Study of Multiconductive Armature Structures Based on Asynchronous Induction Coil Launcher

The structure and weight ratio of the armature significantly affect the acceleration performance of electromagnetic coil launchers. This article presents a new type of armature structure, termed the multiconductive armature structure (MCAS), designed to enhance acceleration performance in asynchronous induction coil launchers. It analyzes the impact of the new armature structure on the propulsion performance of electromagnetic coil launchers. By establishing a mathematical model for the MCAS armature and designing the orthogonal experiment, the study investigates the effects of three parameters: the axial length of the circular rings located at the rear and front ends of the armature, and the distance between these two armatures, on the exit velocity and acceleration efficiency. The results indicate that the length of the rear armature ring has the most significant impact on the final propulsion performance, while the interactions among various factors influence the overall propulsion effect. And the experimental results demonstrate that the MCAS armature has a higher exit velocity, greater propulsion efficiency, and a lower armature weight ratio compared to conventional armatures. This novel armature structure provides a new design solution for asynchronous induction coil launchers.
