Detection of Moving Objects in Spotlight Mode Using Dual-Channel Space-Borne SAR

The spotlight probing mode is characterized by a higher azimuth resolution than the strip mode. The paper studies an algorithm for detecting moving objects in the spotlight mode using two-channel space-borne synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The algorithm was simulated, and the results of trajectory signal processing for the parameters of the X-band space SAR were obtained. The graphs of statistical characteristics are given, which show the accuracy of calculating the radial velocity of a ground moving point object when the echo signal level changes. These characteristics make it possible to present requirements to the parameters of space-borne monitoring systems that operate in spotlight mode.
