Extending Secure Local5G Networking Over Transcontinental Network Slicing

5G technology introduces network slicing, which enables the creation of multiple virtual networks on a single physical infrastructure, each tailored to specific service requirements. However, deploying secure and efficient end-to-end slices, particularly across transcontinental networks, presents a significant challenge. Conventional solutions, such as public Wi-Fi with insufficient security and VPNs, often fail to address the complexity of connection management and stringent security, scalability, and performance demands of global operations. To overcome these challenges, this study proposes a novel approach that integrates a dynamic core configuration with SIM-based authentication, securely embeds user credentials into network operations and minimizes reliance on external software. The proposed solution, implemented on the FABRIC infrastructure that spans across the globe, supports real-time slice management and orchestration between self-managed wireless networks such as Local5G in Tokyo and Dallas, simulating business and industrial Internet of Things(IoT) scenarios. Performance evaluations, including Round-Trip Time (RTT) and bandwidth analysis, demonstrate significant latency, throughput, and operational efficiency improvements. These results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance global communications, offering a promising pathway for future Local5G deployments.
